BMW Complete DPF Removal Session

BMW DPF Removal Session

BMW DPF Removal Service
BMW DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) systems seem to have blocked DPF’s normally caused by faults within the ECU system whereby it fails to regenerate at set intervals due to false calculations of pressure in the DPF but also, we find many BMW’s won’t flag up a warning until the DPF is blocked beyond economical repair. In such cases, you’ll find a regeneration will not be successful and even if you manage to regenerate with the light out, the damage to the filter will be too excessive and the fault will quite quickly come back.

The BMW 5 Series DPF Removal is very popular and we can usually get you back out on the road the same day!

We advise to act fast and have the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) System removed from your BMW exhaust system and ECU if you’re experiencing any problems or blockage. A blocked DPF can quite quickly escalate into a much bigger problem.

Are You Experiencing DPF Problems With Your BMW Such As:

  • Loss Of Power / No Throttle Response
  • Glow Plug / Engine Management Light Illuminated On Dash
  • Poor Fuel Consumption
  • Particulate Filter Fault On Screen
  • Particulate Emission Filter Overloaded
  • Hard To Start & Slow Pick-Up In Speed
  • Limp Mode (Won’t Rev Over 3000RPM)
  • Fault Code: 480A, 481A, P242F etc..
  • Engine Starts & Eventually Cuts Out
  • Engine Fails To Start
  • Turbo Leaks & Carbon Build Up

BMW DPF Dash Warning

When the DPF blocks up, the excess back pressure will make its way back up to the turbocharger which is the first mechanical component before the EGR and Engine. Excess back pressure on the turbo will eventually cause the turbo seals to fail and leak oil but can in time cause

complete failure of the turbocharger. Once the seals leak, exhaust gasses are able to make their way back up into the engine and contaminate the engine oil and eventually even over pressurise the engine causing engine oil seals to also fail as well as injector seals. This is commonly known as carbon-backup and is directly related to the failure of a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).

What Are The Options For A Blocked BMW DPF?
The simple answer would be to either replace or remove the blocked DPF from your BMW. A regeneration may work providing it hasn’t required a forced regeneration previously – otherwise you will be damaging elements of the DPF each time you attempt a regeneration and eventually the filter will lose its ability to self-regenerate. Same time, you are putting a lot of strain on the turbo and engine when carrying out forced regenerations so we do not particularly recommend it.

If you’re replacing the DPF on your BMW with a new one, make sure you’re using ONLY genuine filters (OEM Parts) – copy filters (Pattern Parts) can be purchased for as little as £300 but don’t expect them to last more then a few weeks. We’ve found most of our customers have come to us after having gone down this route of buying cheaper copy parts trying to get a cheap quick fix and being back to square one just a few weeks later and £400+ out of pocket! – Do it once & do it right, either replace your blocked BMW DPF with a new genuine part or remove it completely and professionally.

You’re best option all round will be to remove the DPF completely. By removing the blocked DPF and reprogramming the vehicle to run optimally without the filter, you’re guaranteed increased performance and fuel economy gains and best of all peace of mind that you will NEVER experience DPF-related faults ever again. – Providing it is done correctly!

How Can Sinspeed Help With A Blocked BMW DPF?
Most of our customers have come to us eventually after trying to change sensors, failed regenerations and cleaning additives – not realising they are potentially doing more harm then good. We can completely remove the DPF (Diesel Particulate / Particle Filter) from the exhaust system and simultaneously reprogram your vehicles engine ECU to ensure that you won’t experience any more problems such as Limp Mode (Safe Mode), Error Warning Lights On The Dash, Loss Of Power, Smoke & Poor Fuel Consumption etc. – Also when doing so, we can simultaneously remap your vehicle to increase the performance and economy and smooth out all flat spots right through the rev range.

Also inclusive in our Custom DPF Removal Service is our smoke-correction service and by this we fine-tune the diesel system to ensure the vehicle won’t smoke and will continue to run as it should.

Will DPF Removal Cause Me To Fail An MOT?
From February 2014, the law is changing to include the visual inspection of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) during your MOT inspection. Although our DPF Removals are very discreet and our smoke-correction ensures the vehicle won’t smoke come MOT time, we are offering our DPF Removal sessions as an “Off-Road Use Only” service.

  • I am thinking of purchasing a BMW 1250 and am concerned about the possible blockage of the particulate filter as I only drive short distances but like the power the Diesel engine gives.
    What would you advice?

    • Hi Allan

There are a few options you can consider:

      1. Buy the vehicle you like, have the DPF Removed and headache over.
      2. Chemical cleaning session.
      3. Buy a petrol and let us remap it.

Chemical cleaning would be required at least once a year to ensure the DPF is kept in a healthy state but you will still be required to do frequent motorway runs.

I have been told, the diagnostics has shown the following error.:-
Exhaust gas pressure sensor light on at low power
    DPF System faulty
    Air sensor fault (air mass)
Air Mass reading too High DPF Blocked
    Noise from engine inlet manifold.
    1. Please give me an estimate for repairing the above.
    2. Please advise estimate for the DPF Delete option with the eGR valves removed.
Any advice on a most economical solution would be very much appreciated.

third time it was removed and send for cleaning and it lasted 5 months.
i am thinking of removing it but scared of it not passing MOT.
