BMW iDrive Repair – Multi Function Display (MFD) Satellite Navigation System iDrive Faults

BMW iDrive Fault? – iDrive Repair Services

BMW iDrive Repair If you have a new BMW with the optional upgrade BMW iDrive MFD Multi Function Display Satellite Navigation System, then you may be aware of some of the problems which car owners across the country are experiencing with these units. They’re pretty cool, look great in the dash but at £2000+ they don’t come cheap!

A very common problem that most people are experiencing is complete screen failure which is common across the entire BMW iDrive MFD Multi Function Display Satellite Navigation System range. When they fail, BMW render the entire unit useless and advise that it must be replaced – if it’s replaced under warranty then you’re very lucky but otherwise it seems like a very costly replacement which is where we come in.

Before parting with your hard earned cash, there is a very good chance that your existing unit can be repaired saving you a LOT of money. We offer a complete strip down and rebuild of your existing unit in as little as 3 days. Repaired units are returned with our Lifetime warranty and are fully Plug & Play – meaning no programming will be required.

Our iDrive Remanufacturing Procedure

All units are first tested on our purpose built testing station which allows us to power the unit up and simulate it as if it was still connected to the vehicle. We can then assess the problem and confirm all underlying faults. We then proceed to carrying out the repairs, replacing any necessary major components including the liquid crystal display (LCD). After repairs the unit is re-assembled and tested again to confirm full functionality before returning the unit to you.

Your repaired iDrive will be returned fully Plug & Play with a Lifetime warranty

  • I have a 05 reg BMW 535D saloon which I believe takes the E60 and E61 device. What occurs is that simultaneously the radio will cut out i.e. no sound, and the iDrive control knob freewheels. If it starts to show resistance again i.e. no longer freewheels, then the radio sound will return. Same for the CD player. Obviously when the control knob freewheels one cannot set anything. However the Sat Nav, if it has already been set continues to work both in terms of directions, knowing where it is and on screen display. I suspect a power connection issue which, of course, could be anywhere in the wiring to the unit. What is your professional view? The tendency for the fault to occur increases in warmer weather and reduces in very cold weather and failing when it has been working often seems to occur after going over a bump or similar.

  • I’m having problems with my Idrive. I have a Bmw116i 2004 … The system worked perfectly, but it started to appear flaws on the screen, and more and more constant, similar to scratches on the screen .. And suddenly the screen stopped working. It opens and closes, but does not turn on. The dvd and audio tb do not respond .. Re sensor system still works, the air conditioner tb, but it has lost strength … What should I do? Even after turning off the car, it makes noises of the screen opening and closing, and cd running on the player. And the start and stop button does not turn off the light.
