Multi Functional Display MFD3 RNS510 FaultsVAG Group vehicles, that would be either an Audi, Seat, Skoda or Volkswagen (VW), which are fitted with the RNS510 / RNS810 MFD3 Multi Functional Display Satellite Navigation System are experiencing major problems with the satnav display units. They’re pretty cool, look great in the dash but at £2000+ they don’t come cheap!

We are getting units sent in on a daily basis for all sorts of problems. From complete screen failures to Navigational Functions not working – which is common across the entire VAG Group MFD3 Multi Function Display Satellite Navigation System range. When they fail, dealers render the entire unit useless and advise that it must be replaced – if it’s replaced under warranty then you’re very lucky but otherwise it seems like a very costly replacement which is where we come in.

Before parting with your hard earned cash, there is a very good chance that your existing unit can be repaired saving you a LOT of money. We offer a specialist repair service whereby we’ll remanufacture your existing unit in as little as 3 days and return it to you with a Lifetime warranty. Repaired units are fully Plug & Play meaning no programming will be required.

Common RNS510 / RNS810 Multi Functional Display (MFD3) Satellite Navigation System Faults

  • CD Read Errors
  • Display Faults
  • Will Not Accept or Eject CD
  • Unit Completely Inoperable
  • Display Stays White
  • Stuck On Boot Logo
  • Unable To Enter Destination

Our Remanufacturing Procedure
All units are first tested on our purpose built testing equipment which can simulate the unit as if it were still on the vehicle. We test all units to confirm the faults you are experiencing and to check for any other underlying problems the unit might have. We then go on to remanufacture the unit, replacing major components such as processors and Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD’s) where necessary before re-assembling the unit. All repaired units are then re-tested to confirm full functionality of the unit before returning it to you with a Lifetime warranty. No programming is required when you get the unit back, simply plug & play!

  • Hi,ive got a rns 510 which just keeps rebotting and only saying welcome to volkswagen. Been told its the Hdd at fault by the stereo repairers where the stereo is now. Could this be the case. Price to repair please ? Model number is 1TO 035 680 B
    Thanks

    • Hi Andy

      Thanks for the enquiry,

We should be able to get that working again for you – the “Boot-Loop Error” is a common one we see on this and other units, however we always tread cautiously when a third party has previously tampered with a unit and we will need to inspect the extent of damage before confirming whether or not it is repairable.

We have sent you an email with pricing and information.

      Kind Regards

  • Hi need some help sat nav is stuck on one area you Can type in the address say doing route but is stuck in same street

    • Hi Ian

      Thanks for the enquiry,

I would recommend checking the GPS antenna first and most commonly this type of fault would be related to the antenna or wiring between the antenna and Sat Nav unit. However, if you are sure the antenna and wiring is Okay then we can test the RNS sat nav unit to replicate the fault in an isolated bench test and repair accordingly if required.

We have sent you an email with full pricing and information for this testing and repair service.

      Kind Regards

When i select English, the background menu swtiches to English but the the system says it fails to load and reverts back to german. VW say they cant fix it and Surprise Surprise they recommend i spend £2000 on a new unit!! This Would appear to be a Software issue……..any Thoughts??

  • Hi,
My RNS 510 nav/raido system has frozen.
The battery on the car was changed and the the system asked for a raido code.
