Renault & Nissan Instrument Cluster & Dashboard Repair
Summary: Renault and Nissan instrument clusters tend to fail in ways a driver notices quickly: a dash that blinks off and on, gauges that stop together, a centre screen that turns white. Either badge, the repair is the same: your own cluster comes to us by post and goes back repaired, with its mileage and stored data intact.

One route in for a Renault or a Nissan cluster
Both makes share this page because the booking works the same way for each, whichever badge is on the bonnet. Three Nissan models can be booked straight from their listing:
There is no Renault cluster listing, and that changes nothing about the repair. Clio, Megane, Scenic, Captur, Kangoo, Master, Trafic and every other Renault panel are booked through the repair form, as is any Nissan outside those three, from the Micra and Note to the Juke.
Add the part number from the cluster’s label. Numbers can cross the badges: the 2018–2023 Renault Master panel carries P248101020R, with the same 24810 run of digits as the Nissan unit 248109X602. A Renault label that reads like a Nissan one is no cause for concern.
What a failing Renault or Nissan panel looks like from the driver’s seat
- A dash that flashes off and on, or blacks out briefly before failing for good: Scenic (2003–2008) and Navara
- Gauges that stop together: speedometer and rev counter on the Clio 2; fuel gauge, speedo and odometer on the Navara
- A mileage reading that jumps, or a clock that keeps resetting: Scenic
- A centre information screen that turns white, blanks or freezes: Qashqai Mk2
- Backlighting that dims or fails: Captur (2013–2015), X-Trail T30 and Qashqai Mk2
- Warning lamps dim, flickering or lit with no fault behind them: Clio 2 and Qashqai Mk2
Renault’s own user manual is blunt on one point: if no warning lights appear and no sounds are heard, that indicates a fault in the instrument panel.
A panel that misreads is riskier than one that has died. A fuel gauge out of step can strand you, a sticking speedo leaves your speed to guesswork, and a lamp lit for no reason trains you to ignore the next.
The causes are system-level and build with age: heat soak behind the dash, cold nights, damp in an older cabin, the supply dip at every start, and vibration, which is how a panel can behave on tarmac and cut out over rough ground.

On the repair form, give the make, model, year and label number, and describe what the driver sees: when the fault starts, what goes, and any message on the screen.
- Removed at the car, posted to us
The cluster comes out of the dash at your garage or on your own driveway, is packed so it cannot shift in the box, and is posted to our workshop.
- The fault made to happen again
Our Hardware-in-the-Loop platforms load the panel with the heat, vibration and electrical demand of a real journey, so a dash that drops out only over bumps does the same on our bench. Our own engineers carry out the repair on the board itself and reinforce the spot that failed.
- Ready to go back behind the wheel
Before it heads home, we program and calibrate it with dealer-level diagnostic tools. It is still your own unit, so it keeps its mileage and security data and normally refits with no dealer recoding.
Questions from Renault and Nissan drivers
My Scenic’s dashboard says ‘tableau non configuré’. What does that mean?
It is French for ‘panel not configured’, and it is one of the faults listed on 2003–2008 Scenic and Grand Scenic clusters. Note the message on the repair form and send the cluster in; programming and calibrating it are part of the job.
The centre screen on my Qashqai has turned white. Is that the cluster?
In most cases, yes. A white information screen that stays white is a fault seen on the 2013–2021 Qashqai Mk2, and that screen is part of the cluster. Book it through the Qashqai Mk2 listing above.
My Navara lost its fuel gauge, speedo and mileage at once. Is that one fault?
Usually, yes: all three are shown by the D40’s cluster, and owners report exactly this pattern, often after a few short blackouts. Have the fuses and earths checked first; if the dash still misbehaves, book the Navara cluster in.
