Description
Audi A3 ABS Unit Repair
Failing the MOT on a lit ABS light is often how A3 owners discover the ABS unit has developed a fault. On the A3, a failing ABS pump module typically stores a code against the pump and keeps the light on however many times it is cleared. The unit normally disables ABS when it faults, and ESP too where it is fitted, while the ordinary brakes keep working — so it is worth checking promptly rather than waiting for the test date. We repair your A3’s own unit and return it for your garage to refit.
Common A3 ABS Problems
- ABS light recorded as a fail at the MOT
- Pump fault code logged in the ABS module
- ESP or traction warning on where fitted
- Warning light coming straight back after a reset
- No ABS response during heavy braking
Pump Module or Something Simpler?
Before the unit comes out, it is worth checking the wheel-speed sensors and their ABS rings, the wiring to the unit and the brake fluid level, as any of them can hold the light on. If the fault survives those checks, list the codes on the repair form or contact us and we will advise.
