They’re pretty cool, look great in the dash but at £2000+ they don’t come cheap!
A very common problem that most people are experiencing is complete screen failure which is common across the entire BMW iDrive MFD Multi Function Display Satellite Navigation System range. When they fail, BMW render the entire unit useless and advise that it must be replaced – if it’s replaced under warranty then you’re very lucky but otherwise it seems like a very costly replacement which is where we come in.

Our iDrive Remanufacturing Procedure
All units are first tested on our purpose built testing station which allows us to power the unit up and simulate it as if it was still connected to the vehicle. We can then assess the problem and confirm all underlying faults. We then proceed to carrying out the repairs, replacing any necessary major components including the liquid crystal display (LCD). After repairs the unit is re-assembled and tested again to confirm full functionality before returning the unit to you.

I have a fault with my e60 idrive screen, radio still works but screened blank. All you can see is lines when you shine a torch on the screen and these lines change when operating the system I.e changing from menu to climate. Any way you can help thanks.

BMW E65 2002 CD sat nav asking to insert CD when it’s still in the sat nav unit seems worse in mornings but when it works it’s fine. Can you repair if so can you quote me . Thanks ALan.

I drive not working, no sound no picture on the screen only thing it will do is eject a cd and take in a cd. Any ideas?

535d msport sat nav disc wont eject from drive and idrive is saying no disc please insert disc ?

Car Was left for 2 months in garage. Since the radio/sat nav continues to restart over a 2-3 minute cycle.

I would say check all fuses in case they blew during a jump start but then the unit wouldn’t power up at all – and the fault you are describing is a very common fault so I’m fairly confident you do have a faulty MFD. BMW 1 series 120d 64 plate with nav. Screen cover is cracked. All works ok but can the screen cover be replaced or is it the complete screen. Not sure what E number the system is. Car purchased march 15 new.
