Description
Alfa Romeo MiTo ABS Module Repair
When the MiTo’s ABS unit develops a fault it rarely lights up alone: owners report ABS, VDC and Hill Holder warnings arriving together, sometimes with the stop-start system dropping out as well. That is because the ABS pump and module supplies the wheel-speed and braking data that stability control, traction control and hill hold all depend on, so those systems normally shut down with it. The ordinary brakes continue to work, but the car should be looked at promptly, and the ABS light on its own is an MOT fail. We repair your own module and return it ready to refit.
Common MiTo ABS Faults
- ABS, VDC and Hill Holder warnings on at the same time
- Stop-start unavailable while the ABS light is lit
- ABS pump fault codes stored
- Warnings appearing partway through a journey
- Communication faults between the ABS module and other braking systems
Is It Really the ABS Module?
On the MiTo, the same set of warnings can come from the steering angle sensor inside the electric power steering, a failed wheel-speed sensor or damaged wiring near the unit. Share the fault codes on the repair form and we will tell you whether the ABS module is the likely source before anything is sent.
