Description
Audi A2 Instrument Cluster Repair (2000–2006)
Part of the centre display fading until it is barely readable, or the letters DEF appearing on the dash, are two of the signs A2 owners report when the instrument cluster starts to fail. On the Audi A2 the cluster shows speed, revs, fuel and temperature, carries the driver information display and holds security data linked to the immobiliser. We repair your own unit, so it keeps its original mileage and security information and normally refits without dealer recoding.
What Goes Wrong With A2 Clusters
- Driver information display dimming, especially across the top section
- DEF message where the odometer reading should be
- Speedometer dropping out or stuck at zero
- Gauges misreading or needles resting in the wrong place
- Dial illumination going patchy or out
Could the Fault Be Elsewhere?
Some A2 speedometer and gauge faults trace back to fuses, wiring or a sensor rather than the cluster. Our A2 dashboard problems page explains how the symptoms differ; if yours match a cluster fault, use the repair form to tell us about it and we will advise.
