Description
A3 ABS Pump and Module Repair
Intermittent ABS faults are the hardest kind to pin down on an A3 — the light flickers on over a bump, stays on for a week, then clears itself. An implausible ABS signal fault is often all the scan tool shows. The ABS pump and module stops the wheels locking under hard braking by adjusting pressure at each one, and when it faults ABS is normally switched off while the standard brakes remain. Have it checked promptly; a lit ABS light is an MOT fail. We repair the original unit from your car.
Signs of a Failing A3 ABS Unit
- ABS warning appearing over bumps or rough roads
- Light coming on in damp weather, then clearing
- Implausible-signal fault logged by the scan tool
- ABS inactive during an emergency stop
- Brake warning light lit with the ABS light
Intermittent Light — Where to Look First
Intermittent warnings are often traced to a loose connector, chafed wiring or a sensor with a weak signal rather than to the unit itself. If those check out and the fault keeps returning, note when it happens — wet days, rough roads, after a long drive — on the repair form, or contact us, and we will tell you whether the unit is the likely source.
