The S-Type’s 2.7 diesel is a twin-turbo V6 — a variable-geometry turbocharger on each cylinder bank — so a fault on one side alone is enough to leave the car flat, trigger the engine management light and drop it into limp mode. Heat cycling, a degraded oil supply and carbon build-up all take their toll on these units, and an EGR fault will keep working the turbo hard until the underlying cause is put right. Rather than replace the unit, we rebuild your original turbocharger and return it working as it should — send one or send both.
