Mercedes CLK Electronic Turbo Actuator Problems
The Mercedes CLK from 2002 to 2009 is fitted with an electronic turbo actuator. They are extremely common failing parts and when they do fail, they can become a very costly part to replace. The electronic turbo actuator is controlled by the engine ECU and is designed to regulate the boost pressure from the turbocharger.

Some of the most common problems relating to a failed turbo actuator can include a loss of power and engine warning lights appearing on the dash. See the most common symptoms listed below:

• Loss of power under acceleration
• Intermittent loss of power under acceleration
• Smoking on acceleration
• Fault codes pointing to turbo actuator
• Fault Code: 0046 – Control Circuit Performance
• Actuator arm not moving
• Engine light on
• Limp mode

If your electronic turbo actuator has failed then your local dealer will be quoting on a very expensive replacement turbocharger + actuator together because the actuator is not a part that can be purchased separately.
