Landrover Freelander 2 Instrument Cluster Problems
The Landrover Freelander 2 from 2006 – 2011 is factory fitted with a Nippon Seiki (UK-NSI) instrument cluster unit. The instrument cluster is coded to the vehicles immobiliser system and is a very common failing part. You can see below some of the most common symptoms of a failed instrument cluster / speedometer unit below.
Common Instrument Cluster / Dashboard Problems
- LCD Display Pixelated / Not Working
- No Sound
- Gauges sweep from side to side
- Intermittent Problems
- Complete Failure
If you’re experiencing speedo faults then your local garage / dealership will advise on replacing it with a new part. New replacement instrument clusters are very expensive and will require coding and to the vehicles immobiliser system and calibration to match the vehicles mileage. Some garages may advise on a used second-hand part but these come with a very limited 30-90 day warranty and will require re-programming and calibration at an additional cost.
