The Mazda 2 from 2003 – 2007 was installed with a Bosch TCU (Transmission Control Unit), also known as a TCM (Transmission Control Module). The same part has been found to be fitted to selected models of Ford, such as the Ford Fiesta.
If you are experiencing problems with your TCU / TCM unit and it has been diagnosed to be faulty then you may have already been advised to have the unit replaced. This type of unit is very expensive to replace and will require coding to the vehicle after fitment. New replacement parts only come with a 12 month manufacturers warranty.
Common Transmission Control Module Faults:
- No Communication
- Not Selecting Correct Gear
- Not Displaying Selected Gear on Dash
- Improper Gear Ratio Faults
- Gears are Slipping
- Fault Codes Logged
- EML (Engine Management Light) On
