Description
Audi TT Mk1 Instrument Cluster Rebuild
The first-generation Audi TT (1998–2006) is known among owners for its dashpod faults: fuel and coolant temperature gauges that stop reading, needle lights that come and go, and a centre display with missing pixels. Faults are often intermittent at first — a bump in the road may bring a dead gauge back to life for a while. We rebuild your original cluster, so it returns with its own mileage and immobiliser data and normally fits straight back in.
Typical TT Mk1 Faults
- Fuel gauge and coolant temperature gauge dead, stuck or wildly inaccurate
- Illumination on the fuel and temperature needles flickering or out
- Missing lines or pixels on the driver information display
- Gauges that return briefly after a knock or a bump
- Cluster flickering or resetting when started from cold
Dashpod, Battery or Sender?
A tired battery connection can make a TT’s dash flicker on start-up, and a sender fault can stop a single gauge, so those are worth checking. Our TT Mk1 cluster rebuild guide sets out the usual pattern; if it matches, send us the symptoms via the repair form.
