The Audi A3 1.9TDi and 2.0TDi, both in 140 & 170bhp (including the SLine model) come factory fitted with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) from 2005+.

These PD engine DPF Removals have proven to be one of the most difficult for most companies across the country, where most have the PPD Siemens ECU fitted, a lot of companies have stopped offering a DPF Removal service because they simply can’t get the programming right.

These cars come in auto/tiptronic as well as the manual gears and that is also a big issue because in automatic its harder to keep the revs up without the gearbox ECU throwing you into a higher gear all the time.

Some companies are now offering DPF cleaning services, we strongly advise against this as carrying out forced regenerations could potentially damage the injectors on these vehicles as well as the turbo but that’s not something that other companies offering such services will admit to – it’s a quick fix for an ongoing problem but it will never cure the fault, the problem will return sometimes within a few miles.. sometimes after a few weeks/months.

You’ll find a lot of companies offering straight pipes in replacement of your DPF box but this is not something we offer, putting a straight pipe in will not guarantee you an MOT pass and could cause problems if stopped by VOSA for roadside checks. Also, it will lose the back pressure from the turbo charger and eventually blow the oil seals & slacken the bearing causing turbo failure.
