The Easytronic Gearbox Clutch Actuator is a very common failing part and the same common failing part has been found fitted to the entire Vauxhall range of Easytronic vehicles. The unit is coded to the vehicle so replacing it with a used second-hand part is not really an option without paying additional coding / programming charges at the dealers.

Common Easytronic Transmission Clutch Actuator Problems
The most common fault from a failed Easytronic Transmission Clutch Actuator is the F sign on the dash. The sign will be either flashing or solid. Below we’ve listed just a few of the most common symptoms we’ve seen with these types of units.

The clutch actuator are manufactured with a variety of part numbers, some of which are interchangeable and some which aren’t. Two identical vehicles can have clutch actuators with different part numbers making them not interchangeable and so there is always this risk when buying second hand used parts. Once the clutch actuator fails, your local dealer will quote you in excess of £700 +VAT, Labour and Programming. The new replacement unit will only come with a standard 12 month warranty. Second hand (used) parts will be a bit cheaper but will also require coding / programming using dealer level equipment at an additional cost and come with a limited 30-90 day warranty. Some dealers will not offer to code second hand used parts and urge you to buy a brand new part.

I have a 55 plate Meriva that suffered the dreaded flashing F. The brake lights stayed on so I was advised that the brake switch needed replacing. This fault was confirmed by my breakdown company. I had the part replaced by a local garage but they are now telling me the car won’t start. After they apparently investigated the problem they are now telling me it MAY be an issue with crumpled wiring going to the tailgate????

I have a Astra h with flashing f on Dash. Car will not start and shows brake not Depressed. I have Delphi diagnostics and it shows code for gearbox needs service. No codes for actuators are Shown. When running touchpiont or gearbox reprogram the tests fail after engine starts I get as far as foot on brake handbrake on then it fails . At no point do I loose the f on Dash the diagnostics tell me gearbox reprogram not completed. Although I understand the principles of this box it is my first hands on Experience.Could this be clutch actuator if so how much do you charge for refurb please ?

Hi, I have an astra h 1.6 it drives fine for about an hour and then it feels as if the clutch is slipping, where in first you have accelerator to the floor and it just revs with no movement but once it’s driving it is fine, no warning in the dash at all. Any ideas ? Thankyou

I have a 2009 meriva easytronic which has broken down 3 times now with the f light on and starts after 30 minutes. I took the car to midland automatics and they seem to suspect it is the start of a clutch actuator fault. I have attempted to run leaning gearbox parameters but it keeps timing out so I would assume this is an Actuator fault.

Hi. I have an Meriva 1,6 with easytroniv problems. How is it to send the Acturator to you? Is it easy to take it out of the car?
Dear Jason, I have a Meriva 2004 1.6. The car just died on me. Cannot start at all. No lights on the dashboard at all. A while ago it used to have the F flashing but it was intermittent and didn’t happen on the day it died.
All other lights are working and the window works. headlights an room lights are all functioning including the horns. just no lights at all on the dashboard. tried jumpstarted to no avail. I was told by a friend that it could be the clutch actuator.
Please advise and tell me how should fix this issue. any remote solutions or do have to ship to you and how much will that cost?

i have vauxhall meriva 1.6 2006 modal, On the dashboard F sign is coming up, some one diagnose it it give error code P1607, which i thing belong to clutch actuator, could you please tell me how easy to take it off and send it to you for repair and do i need to reprogram it after fixing back, and how much does it cost me.
I have a Corsa C 1.2 easitronic with a P 1607 fault linked to the Clutch Actuator Control unit. How much to repair if I send it, and how easy is it to remove … I have started removing the clutter above the easitronic system. Thanks
I have a problem with the clutch actuator and at the moment the which is an astra easytronic is not starting and stuck in gear on my driveway. What are your prices for repairs or a new unit

I had to call the AA out tonight. They towed me to Dan Hartfords in Kingswood. They were shut so I left the car there and will return at 8.00 am in the morning to ask for a diagnosis.

hi, the F sign came on on my Opel Astra Life 2005, 100000 km, if i disconnect the battery I can start the car again, I have not taken the car to a service yet, however it is booked, could this be the clutch actuator? can you also please give me a quote for repair + shipping from to Ireland? Thanks
